The Caribbean

This blog is port cruise.  Michelle and I met up in Fort Lauderdale on March 4th to begin our cruise on the Silver Moon on the 5th.

A little breezy in Ft. Lauderdale before boarding.

Our butler, Mark and suite attendant, IGede

On our first sea day we did a cooking class in Salt Lab.  A jerk steak sandwich with slaw.  Delicious! Right after we had a bridge tour with Captain Giovanni Adorante

Most days we played bingo, trivia and golf putting.  Sea day two we ate at the Grill.  Great staff including Tyrone from my Pole to Pole.

Formal night for photo op with Cruise Director, Zaid. Reason for the cruise to see him in his new position after being the Entertainment Host on the Pole to Pole.  Still the great Zaid, work ethic, energy, humor.

First port, San Juan, Puerto Rico.  We took a walking tour.

Out 2nd port was St. Thomas.  We took an open air bus tour to panoramic points and then up a gondola to another viewpoint.

That afternoon we did another cooking class.  This time vegan.  More wonderful recipes.

Our next port was St. Barts.  We did what they call a semi-sub exploration.  We saw a few fish but coral, places they are trying to make coral, a shipwreck and green turtles.  We then did some walking around and stopped for a bit at Shell Beach.  Gorgeous yachts!

Dinner at Silver Note, Chocolate Extravaganza and a dance party that evening.

Next day, St. Kitts and Nevis.  We took a boat for a beach day at Nevis.  We had 4 ships at this port.  Two huge ones.  It was a zoo on the port.  That night we had a lovely dinner with Zaid and his Uncle and Auntie who were also on the ship from Colombia.

Off to Martinique.  We took a catamaran tour to a beach and the catamaran had a glass bottom to watch green turtles.  The view of the turtles was much better than the photos show.  We did walk around for a little bit.  It wasn't what we expected.

We got off in Barbados.  Did a short tour before they dropped us at the airport. At Gun Hill Station I made a friend.  🐱  Beautiful views at Bathsheba surf beach area.  Stop at a parish church and lighthouse.

It was a wonderful 8 days!
